Held each summer, this four-week course covers the central concepts of Pre-Algebra, such as the foundations of Algebra, linear equations, variables, and categorizing numbers. The course is effective as both an introduction to Pre-Algebra and a review before Algebra 1. Techniques such as repetition-based learning, educational games, and progress checks are incorporated to make the lessons digestible and engaging. Office hours and free private lessons are also available as a supplement to the group lessons.
What are You Going to Learn?

Number System
We will review the Number System, going over whole numbers, integers, real numbers, etc. We will focus on operations with negative numbers.

Order of Operations
PEMDAS will be the highlight of this unit. We will focus on multiplication and division and the direction to compute.

Fractions and Decimals
We will review what fractions and decimals are, focusing on how to compute with them. We will also show how to convert between them.

Ratios and Proportional Relationships
We will go over ratios and the part they play in proportional relationships. We will highlight the importance of ratios in future math classes.

Probability
We will go over the basics of probability. This unit will also be expanding upon the previous two units, displaying the applications of fractions and ratios.

Expressions and Equations
We will teach the basics of algebra including variables and basic equations. We will connect this unit back to our previous units to show how everything connects.
